How To Make Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings
My family loves this dish a lot!!
The Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings is a classic comfort food that's perfect for a cozy night in. To make it, start by adding boneless, skinless chicken breasts to a crockpot. Add diced onions, celery, and carrots, along with chicken broth and seasonings like thyme, garlic powder, and bay leaves.
Cook everything on low for several hours until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender. Then, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Next, blend a simple dumpling dough using flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter.
Drop a spoonful of the dough into the crockpot, cover it, and cook for another hour or so until the dumplings are cooked through. Finally, stir the shredded chicken back into the crockpot and let everything simmer together for a few minutes until heated through. Let's see the ingredients:
Ingredients:
One diced onion.
Six of boneless skinless chicken breasts.
One can of chicken cream soup.
One can of celery cream soup.
Two tbsps. of fresh chopped parsley.
One teaspoon of poultry seasoning.
2 cups of chicken broth.
1 packet of biscuits with cooled milk.
2 cups of Frozen Mixed Vegetables (Thawed).
Black pepper.
Directions:
Step 1
First, put the chopped onion in the bottom of the crock, and lay the chicken thighs over the chopped onion in one layer.
Step 2
Then, put one can of Cream Chicken Soup in a mixing bowl, and pour the can of cream celery soup into it.
Step 3
After that, add one tsp. of the poultry seasoning to the mixing bowl, and sprinkle with two tbsps. of chopped fresh parsley.
Step 4
Next, add black pepper, as desired, and in a mixing bowl, stir all ingredients and pour over crock-pot chicken thighs.
Step 5
Then, pour two cups of chicken broth over the chicken, and set the crock pot on high for about 5 hours, and put the lid on.
Step 6
Make sure, to not open the lid until you have only 1 hour of cooking time remaining on the cookware, and open the lid after 1 hour, and pour in two cups of thawed mixed vegetables.
Step 7
After that, blend in the crock pot well, breaking up the chicken thighs as you stir, and open a cooled cookie tin, flatten each one, then cut each biscuit into 4 long slices.
