This mouthwatering sweet may be made by following the step-by-step instructions provided in the following recipe:

THE INGREDIENTS LIST:

1 Cup.Of unsalted butter.

2 Cups.Of granulated sugar.

4 large eggs.

1 Tsp.Of vanilla extract.

1 ½ Cups.Of all-purpose flour.

½ Cup.Of unsweetened cocoa powder.

¼ Tsp.Of salt.

1 Cup.Of chopped pecans or walnuts (optional).

2 Cups.Of mini marshmallows.

½ Cup.Of unsalted butter.

¼ Cup.Of whole milk.

¼ Cup.Of unsweetened cocoa powder.

3 Cups.Of powdered sugar.

1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

PREPARATION:

1. Set the oven's temperature to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.

2. Melt the butter in a big pot over low heat. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract after removing from the heat. Stir well to mix.

3. Combine salt, flour, and cocoa powder in another basin. Stir occasionally, and add the dry ingredients little by little to the pot. If desired, fold in the chopped pecans or walnuts.

4. Spoon the batter equally into the baking dish that has been prepared. A toothpick inserted into the middle should come out with a few wet crumbs after baking for 25 to 30 minutes.

5. Distribute the small marshmallows equally on the cake's top. Put the cake back in the oven for a further five minutes, or until the marshmallows are just beginning to melt.

6. Make the icing while the cake is cooling. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the milk and chocolate powder until well-mixed.

7. After taking the pan from the heat, gently mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to create a glossy, creamy frosting.

8. Spread the chocolate frosting evenly with a spatula after adding it over the marshmallow layer. Before serving, let the cake cool fully.

Mississippi Mud Cake is best enjoyed at room temperature. Cut into squares and serve as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat. Enjoy it!!
